Each Chevrolet Corvette model is equipped with a naturally aspirated V8 engine and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The optional Z51 package includes a performance exhaust, which frees up five additional horsepower and pound-feet of torque. each engine will produce 490 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The Z51 package includes a dual-mode performance exhaust, which slightly increases power to 495 horsepower. The Z51 option includes an electronic limited-slip rear differential, more aggressive brakes, and summer tires. A manual transmission isn’t available. Even in its basic form, the new Corvette is capable of heroic handling and high performance.

Our estimates of the Corvette’s fuel efficiency are 15 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg combined. We ran it through highway fuel economy testing at 75 mph and got 26 mpg, 1 percent less than expected. The previous generation—remember the Vette with the engine up front?—reached 27 mpg in the same test.

0-60 MPH Time

In our testing, we achieved a 60-mph time of 2.8 seconds and a quarter-mile pass of 11.2 seconds at 122 mph in a vehicle equipped with the Z51 performance package and optional FE4 magnetorheological dampers. It stopped from 70 mph in 149 feet and cornered at 1.03 g on the skidpad.

The futuristic interior of the Chevy Corvette can be customized with materials such as leather, real metal trim, and faux suede. It even features a luxuriously stitched headliner. The 2025 Corvette still has two seats. Speaking of the roof, it fits inside the trunk just behind the engine compartment and is removable on coupes—one person can remove it.

The interior design emphasizes a driver-focused approach by dividing the instrument panel in half with climate control system controls mounted above the wall-like barrier between the driver and passenger seats. Chevrolet claims the Corvette can accommodate two sets of golf clubs stacked in the rear trunk. In our testing, we were able to easily accommodate our set of clubs, so Chevy’s claims seem accurate.

All Chevy Corvettes will have the new technology. The Corvette features an eight-inch touchscreen with Google, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 10-speaker Bose sound system. The 2LT now features a 14-speaker premium Bose stereo and wireless charging.

Though sports vehicles are a fading breed, those that do remain are better than ever.
